Title:
Data & Research Analyst
Duties:
Develop, implement, analyze and communicate results of quantitative and qualitative research related to institutional research, institutional effectiveness, planning, accreditation, program assessment, and state/federal compliance. Respond to ad-hoc data requests from administrators, faculty, staff, and the public and develop and implement analytics and data visualizations in form of tables, charts, or dynamic graphs and dashboards. Maintain data security and data integrity. Retrieve and analyze data from a variety of data sources using SQL-based query tools. Design and implement a stored procedure in SQL Server Management Studio to extract data from one database and populate it into another, set to run on a daily basis for continuous analysis of data. Follow established procedures for Personally Identifiable data and FERPA compliance to ensure high levels of data accuracy and consistency. Design, conduct, and evaluate experimental operational models, particularly in scenarios where traditional data models are insufficient. Implement advanced machine learning techniques, such as K-means clustering, to perform in-depth cluster analysis. Visualize these clusters in three-dimensional graphs to facilitate a comprehensive understanding of each cluster's characteristics, aiding in the interpretation and decision-making processes. Conduct longitudinal studies to track alumni outcomes and evaluate the long-term impact of educational programs. Utilize existing data systems to gather alumni information and employ statistical tools to assess the effectiveness of academic offerings. Ensure adherence to ethical guidelines and data privacy laws such as FERPA in all research activities. Position may include additional duties that utilize the required skills.

Requirements:
Requires a Master’s degree in Operations Research, Data Analytics, Analytics or a closely related field. Must have three (3) months of experience as a Graduate Researcher, Teaching Assistant, Graduate Research and Teaching Assistant, or related in data analytics in an academic setting. Experience must include:
- Applying Python in data mining and social media analytics contexts to address complex analytical challenges;
- Designing, conducting, and evaluating data-driven models to support institutional research initiatives, while retrieving and analyzing data from various databases to inform decision-making and strategic planning;
- Implementing advanced machine learning techniques, such as K-means clustering, to perform in-depth cluster analysis;
- Working with Python programming concepts, including applications such as longitudinal data analysis, with a strong understanding of data analytics topics and the ability to utilize these skills effectively in project development and problem-solving; and
- Completion of graduate level coursework in Machine Learning / Pattern Recognition; Business Analytics / Data Mining; Program Data Science Analytics; InfoTech Strategy / Applications; and Big Data Analytics.

Wage Range: $112,570 - $112,570/Year
