Ferrum College is seeking applications for the position of Director of the Learning Opportunities Program. The Learning Opportunities Program is designed to support students in their academic and personal development as they transition to the college environment and learn to accept responsibility for their own learning. Specific duties include, but are not limited to: weekly meeting with students, academic support classes and workshops, communication with parents and faculty, and supervision of learning consultants. This is a full-time, 11-month position.

Minimum qualifications: Master's degree in Counseling and experience working with high school students or young adults in an educational setting. Candidate should be well organized and capable of working independently, as well as part of a team. This position will require a candidate with an understanding of meta-cognition, excellent interpersonal communication skills, a positive attitude and a belief in the ability of all students to learn.
