100% commission based.
Job Description:
This position requires a person to be detailed oriented with advanced computer skills a must. This professional collection agent will be required to be on the phone collecting student loans 80% of the work day, and other 20% could be skip tracing, entering data into the computer or organizing their portfolio of accounts.
This assertive collection agent will need to locate and notify customers of delinquent accounts by telephone to persuade them to pay past due amounts on Higher Education Student Loans. Your responsibilities would be to arrange for debt repayment or establish repayment schedules, based on customers' financial situations. You must study, test and be knowledgeable each day on the laws of FDCPA as well as state and company regulations.
Duties include receiving payment and posting amount to customer's account; preparing statements if customer fails to respond; initiating letters to appropriate parties and keeping detailed records of collection and status of accounts.
The ideal candidate MUST have:
- Job longevity of at least 2 years with a financial institution, and a proven success rate.
- Ability to deal with unpleasant, angry, or discourteous people in a professional manner.
- An assertive personality who is goal oriented, disciplined and driven.
- Knowledge of collection practices, regulations and procedures.
- Knowledge of database and advanced internet experience / Computer skills a must
- Strong communication and problem resolution skills are required.
- Ability to manage time as this position is 100% commission based
